About PIDA

Pearl Integrated Development Agency was established in 2014 as a nonprofit community-based organisation in Busia District, Eastern Uganda. PIDA grew from direct knowledge of the barriers faced by rural women, girls and young people, including poverty, interrupted education, limited livelihood opportunities, health risks and environmental pressures.

Through long-standing relationships with local and religious leaders, community groups and grassroots networks, PIDA supports collective problem-solving and hands-on learning in Masaba and the surrounding subcounties of Buhehe, Lumino, Majanji, Lunyo and Busime.

To empower vulnerable girls, youth and women through education support, skills development and household economic strengthening.
