Programme area

Education and Skills Development

PIDA works with in-school and out-of-school adolescents to expand access to learning, reading materials and practical skills.

Literacy and education support

PIDA reports distributing books and reading materials to four private primary schools through relationships with international book-donation partners. The organisation also advocates for keeping girls in school as a core strategy for reducing child marriage and expanding future choices.

Vocational skills

PIDA established a vocational skills development centre providing practical training for out-of-school girls in fashion and design, motorcycle repair and maintenance, masonry, welding and metal fabrication, hairdressing and carpentry. Courses are complemented by entrepreneurship, financial literacy and life-skills education.

Ending child marriage

As a member of Girls Not Brides, PIDA is committed to the Sustainable Development Goal target of ending child marriage by 2030. Education, community awareness, girls’ agency and economic opportunity are central to this work.
